It was quite a memorable one.

We invited 8 kids including Kaju at 4pm.
-ChunMun
-GunGun
-Eva
-Hiya
-Honey
-Baby
-Tanishk
-n ofcourse Kaju

Eva di n Hiya reached home with Sumi mausi,Kaju and nanu as they all went to see CWG exhibition train, at 3:30pm

ChunMun,Gungun reached at 4:30pm.

We waited till 4:50pm as no more kids came, we asked Eva to n call them.

After waiting for 20-25 more mins, we cut the cake and started with the games.
-Puzzle game
-Ballon game
-Search your pair (in animal voice) game

Tanishk joined us,when we were in middle of balloon game.

While we were playing the last game, Honey and baby came and with them came Muskan.

Muskan was the first kid (guest) whom we were not expecting.

By chance I had an extra set of return gifts,so it didn't matter much.

Around 6:30 all kids left,leaving behind Eva, Hiya and Kaju. We were just waving "Bye" to Gungun,when we saw, Gudiya(Megha) all dressed up and with a gift in her hand.

As we were not expecting her, Kaju gave her a strange look but willing excepted gift.

We served her with the snacks and was wondering about her return gift,when Sumi Mausi told us, Aashi and her brother are also coming!!

First question was->who are they?

Sumi Mausi told, they use to be Eva di's friend and when we asked Eva di to go call kids at 4:30pm,she invited all her friends expecting them to be obviously Kaju's friend too.

Some how we managed three return gifts,which were different from whats actually we gave to the expected guest
-Spiderman/Winnie the Pooh/Hanah Montana Rubber
-Pear/Corn/Apple sharpner
-Five star

We ran out of all, so we now gave a Bracelet and toffee to Gudiya, Pen and toffee to Aashi and her brother.

In between all this, Honey, baby joined us back again and seeing the new return gifts,all kids started discussing, "humko to kuch aur mila tha, yeh nahi tha"

Before we could have handled it, there was one more kiddo and no body knew her, not even Eva di

She said to Sumi Mausi:
Kiddo: Mujhe kyun nahi bulaya?
Sumi Mausi: Kahan?
Kiddo: Kaju ki B'day mein..
Sumi Mausi: tum jaanti ho Kaju ko?
Kiddo: Haan...
Sumi Mausi: Khelte ho saath mein
Kiddo:Khelti nahi hun to kya...Kaju ko to janti hun
Sumi Mausi: Theek hai, aa jao.......
Kiddo: Nahi, taiyaar ho kar aaoongi

......... :) Ok now one new guest, means more snacks needed, cake and one more return gift

Trying to figure out this, there was a new kid at our door and she peeped in...

Kid 2: Mein taiyaar ho kar aati hun...meri 2 sis aur hain......

OooKkk! so three more kids........

We had fun at the party but we had more excitement after the party ,with the kids coming as we didn't knew how many more will come

So instead of 8, we got 14 kids :) and we planned party from 4-6pm but it went up till 8:45pm,as and when kids where getting news of Kaju's b'day party,they were coming in :)

I knew Kaju is a bit famous here ,because of his name but didn't I never expected this much popularity :)

Curious Kaju- Intelligent Questions

When he was 3yrs, he use to go to La Petite and everyday after coming back from there,we both will watch Curious George. I think, he got his curiosity from George only :)

Kaju: Mamma, who build the house?
Mamma: Architect

Kaju:From where they learned to build it?
Mamma: They went to college

Kaju:Papa, who build the road?
Papa: Civil Engineer

Kaju:Mamma, how we make electricity?
I have to explain him, Solar electricity, Hydro-power plant, Wind mill, Gobar gas plant,some with videos, as without a proper explanation he was not very convinced.

Kaju: Why are we not able to walk properly on Moon?
I showed him videos of walking on moon and explained gravitational force to him.

Kaju:Mamma, chhota bheem, Mr.Beans are all animation,then how they talk?
I explained him how to add voice to videos

Kaju:What is animation?

Kaju:Mamma, if Earth is inside Krishna's mouth and we live on Earth,so do we live inside Krishna's mouth?

Kaju:If we are inside Krishna's mouth, how loud I need to speak so he can hear me?

Kaju:(On 11 days Ganesh Jhanki)-Why my b'day is celebrated only one day and Ganesha's b'day is celebrated for 11 days?

I remember, I use to ask lot of questions from Papa and at times when he was not able to answer he will say
"Mujhe saare answers kaise pata hongey"
And I will reply "Aap to Papa ho aapko sab kuch pata hona chahiye" :)

Kaju's B'day 18th and 20Sep -year 2010

Last year we celebrated Kaju's b'day on 19th Sep (2009) as we were not getting a party hall on 20th Sep.

And on 20th Sep 2009,on his b'day he went to a Anshita's b'day.

Anshita's actual b'day was on 19th sep, but we booked the hall that day and Kaju's b'day was actually on 20th but Anshita booked it for her party :). So both attend eachothers b'day on each-others b'day!(in US)

This year, we are still not celebrating his b'day on 20th...why?
Not because of party hall but his friend's Gun-Gun B'day is also on 20th Sep and Kaju don't want to celebrate b'day without him :)

Mamma:Kaju,20th Sep Gun-gun cannot come for party
Kaju:Why Mamma?
Mamma: Because its his b'day too..so he will have his own party.
Kaju:Umm..so lets celebrate my b'day on some other day..
Mamma: When?
Kaju: December when Santa Claus will come
Mamma:Oh,it will be too late...what about 19th sep?
Kaju:Ok, but Eva Di cannot come on 19th,she has her exam on 20th
Mamma:Ok, then lets do it on 18th
Kaju: OK, but in evening Ganesh ji Bhajan are there
Mamma: Bhajan at Ganesh ji's jhanki starts at 6pm, lets hv party at 4pm
Kaju: OKayyyyyy!

After so many adjustments done, we have
Kaju's b'day party on 18th Sep 2010 at 4pm Bhopal,India

As Manish is at Bangalore, Kaju's Papa has to miss his 5th B'day celebrations :(

Two Mamma and Two Papa

Whatever Kaju has ever wanted,related to relations, he has always found in me.

When he was around 2-2.5yrs old, he use to call me Mamma. He started pre-school and teachers told Mom. Quite a few times he called me Mom,but I preferred Mamma. Now he needed a solution and got one by calling me - Mamma Mom.

For about a year he called me , Mamma Mom

Then he met Twinkle,his one of the best friends of Childhood. Twinkle use to call me Massi. And Kaju called Twinkle's mom as Aunty. I tried but he didn't say Mausi to Tara (twinkle's mom). And he was desperate to have a Mausi, not in India,Sumi Mausi, because she was too far.

So he started calling me Mamma Mausi. It again went for a year,till we reached Bhopal in March 2010.

Here he met Eva and Hiya, Sumi Mausi's daughter. In malayalam ,Chechi means Didi. Hiya calls Eva as Eva Chechi and not Eva Didi.

Hmm.....Kaju calls Eva as Eva didi, but now who will be Chechi......ofcourse, I got a new name...Chechi too.

Every night he goes to sleep, he wish me good night saying.. Good Night Mamma Chechi :)

Atleast he has been steady with Mamma. As the years pass by lets see how many more variations,names,relations will be added to my name.

Seems Mamma has a variety as he always called Manish as Papa, no suffix no prefix.

Words- in Kaju's language

Its so nice to hear the kids,with there cute pronunciation, with Kaju it was hardly any words which he pronounced wrong.

In 4.11yrs time, we got 5-6 words,to enjoy in kiddish language.Before he clears his pronunciation on them, I want to jot them down.

Today for the first time, Kaju picked the comb and gave a style to his hair.

Many times till now has he combed his hair,but never tried a new style.

He tried his hair like Aamir Khan in movie "Taare Zameen Par".

I read in a book, at four you come to know how kids will be in their teens, he is 4yrs 10 months 12 days today, I definitely got a glimpse of my teenage boy.

First hair style, Kaju tried all by himself on him.

Auro VS Gandhi ji

I use to have the piggy bank made of mud in my childhood. I got the same for Kaju this time,when we are in India.

Few days back Ade Papa came and Kaju showed his piggy bank to him and Ade Papa gave him, few coins and a Rs100 note to put in piggy bank.

Before he can put in piggy bank, Ade Papa asked him,showing the picture on Rs100 note, "who is he?"

Kaju: hmm..
Ade Papa: Whoes picture is there on Rs100 note?
Kaju: (very innocently replied) Auro

Papa Beta- Tu mera dil

Kaju on Micheal Jackson

I know at times in school, it use to happen that we want to laugh, laugh out loud but we can't.

This happens a lot when we are with our kids.

We saw "Javed Jaffery tribute to Micheal jackson", then there was Boogie Woogie special and some contestants were dancing on Kishore Kumar's songs but steps were of Micheal Jackson.

We kept on watching the videos on Youtube, as Manish appreciate Micheal Jackson and I love dancing. Kaju was just nest to us,as always.

He too was watching videos with us. He didn't say anything for half and hour but then he couldn't figure out the solution to his query and asked me:

Kaju: Mamma, why is Uncle holding his Shu-shu, do he want to pee??
(hope every body is able to connect the Micheal Jackson step he is referring too)
My reaction: (I want to roll on floor with laughter, but couldn't)I gave a very manipulative answer, he is holding his thigh joint or something

And my Prince Charming was not convinced but some how God saved and he left the topic.

I also don't know, why MJ use to dance like that, may be Kaju's observation is correct!

Icecream is Cold!

Sometime I really don't have answers!

Few days back, we went to Jordan Creek Mall and Kaju saw a big poster of Icecream and asked to me to get one.

Hot summer weather, I didn't deny it and got a Kids Butterscotch and Chocolate Cone.

He excitedly took 3-4 bites and said to me, "nahi chaiye" in his very own american hindi tone :-)

I but obviously asked "Why?"
Kaju -"Ice cream is cold, I will keep it so it becomes warm and then only I will eat it"

AHHHhhhhh.........anybody ever tasted a warm Ice cream and still eatable????

Water is Wet!

Kaju went for a bath and that day he was not very excited about it and complained to me, "I don't want to have bath, this water is wet" ............lol

You should just see him, when he washes his face or hands and how desperately he is after his Spiderman towel as the WET Water had made him really WET ;)

Ooo Phata.....

Now what is this?

When we came back from our Henry Doorly Zoo,Omaha,Nebraska trip this March, one day Kaju said to me, "Mamma play Ooo Phata", "Mamma sing Ooo Phata"

And I was like OMG, what is Ooo Phata .....lol . Ofcourse he was saying a hindi word in his american hindi. Was very difficult to guess,as we play so many songs, new and old, on online radio, movies, songs in Car.

Where he heard and what he meant, he only knew. Then one day I was taking him in our new blue car and he said, play "Ooo Phata", so it clicked me, he must have heard the song in car, so Ooo phata is one of the songs in CD we played.

I could never have judged his choice......... Ooo Phata is Mohd Rafi's "Bar bar dekho" and in it ,it has "taale hooo" and this "taale hooo" became "Ooo phata" .......lol :)

Friends and Family and Fun- Musical Band

Pankaj(Manish' colleague) and Manasi (Mrs.Pankaj) were like new friends for Kaju. Kaju will say, Mamma they are my friends not yours!

On 31st Dec, they called us to have new year potluck dinner at their place and also to meet new friends.

Kaju got two new friends Anshul and Twinkle.

Twinkle is 1yr and Anshul 1.6yrs younger to Kaju. These guys really had fun,and full dhamaal.

On 23rd Jan, we again planned a family potluck. As Anshul was not well his family was not able to come,but here are pics of rest of people and A Musical Band.

From Baby to No Baby

On 16th Feb, I was making kaju go to sleep for his nap time and while playing he kicked my tummy. I told him then, "kaju their is baby in Mamma's tummy, don't kick"

I can never forget his smile, full of excitement and happiness,to know about baby. As my due date was in Oct, we told him, he will get a brother or sister after his b'day.

One day Kaju came and started patting my tummy, I said, what are you up too? He replied,I am playing with baby :)

Also sometimes when he is very excited,he will scream loud,when I was pregnant and he will scream,suddenly he will come and touch my tummy and say "Mamma,did baby got scared". So chweet of Kaju !

Then Manish and myself laid down with Viral, we thought its good kaju goes to full time pre-school day care and that saved him from fever.

On 9th March after Kaju left for school and Manish for office, I went to Doctor and came to know about my miscarriage. I think I can never explain anyone how desperate I was to meet,see and touch Kaju,after loosing my unborn child. I gave him a very tight hug when he came back from school in evening. We didn't say anything to him.

On 11th March when Manish took me to hospital for my surgery, a friend of us,Sameer, picked kaju from school. While they were waiting for the cab, Kaju said to him "Sameer Uncle, baby will come after my b'day".

It was after few days of my surgery when Tara(Sameer's wife) told me about what kaju said.

One day he screamed and said, "Mamma did baby got scared"
I said "No beta, there is no baby"
Manish said to him "Baby went to God"
Kaju replied "Why! I want my baby back" and I didn't had any answers for him.

Few days after that, we were lying on bed ,preparing to sleep in night. Kaju was lying besides me as always and he said it loud "God, please send the baby back in Mamma's tummy, please"

I didn't had anything to do except just hug him very tight.

He got so disturbed looking at me sick for days, no baby, that he never wanted to go to school , he said to me "I cannot go to school, I have to take care of Mamma and Papa at home"

I think this was the most difficult time for Kaju till now. The first toughest time of his life has passed by. I wish he never have to face any more tough and bad time in life.

Not my Papa- Different Papa

I was looking at old pictures and got the following photo of Manish.

Kaju gave it a weird look and said "He is not my Papa, he is some different Papa"

Kaju was born in "Mool", and according to religious belief, a father of baby born in Mool should not shave for 21 days,so current look in picture when Manish didn't shave for first 21 days Kaju was born and even Manish didn't got to have a look of Kaju for that time span.

Trip to Dubuque- to meet Curious George

Its been a long time when I last posted,so ofcourse there are many moments to share. I will begin chronologically.

18th Jan 2009

Every day after coming from early pre-school, Kaju will watch Curious George and finish his dinner in no time. So Curious George was not only his favouraite but mine too (no tussle for dinner :-) )

We got a chance to meet Curious George,which we could not have missed, so we planned the trip. Dubuque is 3hrs from Des Moines, but weather was flurry and we took approx 4hrs to reach there. Drove our car there.

It was fun as expected. With Curious George we saw, fish, Ship museum, played in snow. Had a experience of sailing the ship etc. Kaju hugged Curious George :-)

We stayed there for 2hrs and we drove for 8 hrs......lol , looking at Kaju's smile and the fun he had, the exertion was worth it!

At school he heard about Grand Ma, he was very tensed for few days as he has Dadi Ma, Nani ma but no grand Ma, he use to tell me three-four times a day, I don't have a grand Ma

Swimming Time

Though the current temperature is -20c here at Des Moines but we get nice warm water at Gym swimming pool. Every weekend, Manish goes for exercise and Mamma and Kaju have fun at the Pool, Hot water Pool and steam Room.

Whats Happening At Tiwari Family?

Are you wondering,whats happening? I have not posted anything new from a long time. Here is a special video clip just to show, how are we dealing at home these days.

Now have a look at Chhota Manish too, woh bhi kam nahi hai

Only problem is, currently you are watching Punching Bag getting punches, many a times scenario changes and I turn out to be one. Now I know why people says, Mamma needs to be very strong ;)

Kaju Talks!

Now I don't remember all, but there are many of his special talks which I will like to keep up lighted in my memory

As few days back he said to me:
Kaju: Mamma,I want to grow big like Papa
Mamma: You don't want to grow up like Mamma?
Kaju: I can't , you are a girl
Mamma: Hmm,
Kaju: Do one thing Mamma, become a Boy, then we all three will grow up together

[:)]

Everynight, Manish will read him a story and then tell a story. Then Kaju will say "I will wake up and then it will be dark,I will sleep and you tell me story Papa" .

The story which Manish tells him just before bed ,starts everyday as "One day,Gordon ...." :)

Winters are already here and snow also started. Yester night when we went to sleep, I said to Manish, Kaju has to go to school and you have to go to office, I don't have any purpose to leave home, I will be at home and you drop Kaju school and pick him too.

Before Manish can answer anything,
Kaju said "Why Mamma, are you not well?
Mamma: No I am well,but its very cold out there
Kaju: If you are well, then you have to drop me to school Mamma

:)

He is also enjoying his height these days, he will open the Freezer door, will press button of Microwave and start it, turns on the Food processor.

I told him,everytime he finishes his dinner, he grows a little taller. So after dinner he will go to Manish and say, "Papa,look at me" and Manish will act surprised "OH Kaju you are so tall, what did you do?" . Now Kaju has a plan, to grow big and break our roof ;)

Diwaloleen

It was Diwali on 28th Oct '08 and same day Kaju had a Halloween Party at school. So for him as well as us it was a DIWALOLEEN.

He was wearing his Skeleton costume and we went to his school for party. Played games, painted a Pumpkin and then we came back and had Diwali Pooja, which Kaju hardly remember as he was busy with the toys and chocolate he had won at party.

This I need to share, Kaju wanted to go for Party but didn't wanted to wear costume as he said "its scary". But we parents told him, if you don't wear costume, no party.

Atlast after lot of debate he was ready for costume,which we believed he is happy to wear as its a Costume party. I asked Manish to get him Thomas Costume but as it was Halloween we settled for Skeleton one.

So its not very clear whether he wanted the costume or we made him wear :).

Do kids really do what all they want to do? Or many of the things Kids do are because Parents wanted so!

Though he had fun so it was not all that serious issue, but yes we laughed at what we did :)

Cute laptop, I got this for his b'day and he played for I think three minutes as he is three ;) and now his wish is fulfilled, satisfied and he don't want to play with it . :(

It was quite a busy day as we were packing whole house to leave for India and this is US,so we have to clean house before we empty it.

So we cleaned and then we were giving end touch to packing.

Suddenly I noticed,Kaju was not in the room,so ofcourse I hurried to see what naughtiness was he up to :) as generally he was enjoying us packing so he threw everything out of bags and then watch us Packing again :)

Here is what I found out:

He was enjoying his time in Bathroom's Closet!

Look at the Achiever's Smile,He wanted to do this from veryy long time	No body can see me
Come out you Naughty Boy	Unwilling he left the closet

P.S.:Kaju got so use to watching us packing as for one month we were moving from Gurgaon->Rewa->Bhopal->Indore->Gurgaon->Kanpur->Indore->Gurgaon and he saw us packing that once we returned to US in Apr, till Apr end he use to say "Mamma lets play packing packing"

Little achievements feels big!

On 7th Oct '08, I was in kitchen working on dinner and Kaju came back from school,he saw curios george as his daily routine and then as I was busy he started watching Lunette the Clown on laptop,some you tube video.

The videos are generally 4 to 9 mins long,so after every video we need to play next one by moving mouse and then clicking it.

I have told Kaju many times ,how to do that but he was never able to do it.

That day I was peeking from Kitchen,just to keep a watch on him and I saw,mouse pointer on laptop screen was moving and then he clicked.

OMG! Kaju did it!!

I said "Kaju you did it", his smile for that moment is unforgettable.Smile for his accomplishment. I was so happy and whatever feeling I had then I can't explain but yes it was a big achievement.

As soon as Manish entered home from office,first sentence I said to him was, "Kaju moved the mouse and played video by himself"

Its really getting cold here now but a month or two back weather was good and Kaju had some fun in rain, he was actually trying to drink rain drops, I tried to stop him,but when I could't I just took Pictures ;)

There is a shown on PBSkids "Big Comfy Couch". Which has Lunette the clown and Molly the doll.He likes the show,thats how office story came up

Few more things about kaju's office:

Kaju got bugs at office and crocodiles and snakes. Kaju cleaned his office and threw all crocodiles and snakes in dustbin and Garbage truck came and picked up the dumpster and threw them at Land fill.

Other face of same story goes like this:

We were on a trip on last long weekend 30th Aug to 1st Sep. Here are some pics, There are around 650 pictures and 60min camcorder cassette dedicated to it.

B'day morning started with few balloon showers and a THOMAS the Tank Engine,DVD.

He just woke up and was still sleepy and I was busy showering balloons on him and gifting the DVD, Manish was busy capturing moments. Kaju very genuinely said to me "Mamma, I want to Pee"
